The Busselton Dunsborough Times has published an article on our 2013 whale sightings!

This past season we spotted around 130 pygmy blue whales thanks to the efforts of local volunteers, who were out monitoring from August to December.  Also spotted were 2000 humpback whales and around 17 critically endangered southern right whales.

Chris Burton of Western Whale Research was quoted in this article, discussing the migration peak, observations on whale behaviour, and the importance of raising awareness about approaching these animals.  The article also features a stunning right whale photo, courtesy of local photographer Ian Wiese.
